Generations of Mastery

I am a fourth generation woodworker. My great grandfather was a lumberman in the early days of Dakota Territory, helping to form what the Black Hills of western South Dakota is today.

This hotel, along with Sylvan Lake itself was designed and built by Theodore Reder, my great grandfather.

I grew up at my father’s side in the sawmill. Witnessing first hand trees into lumber. My father built one of the historic log dude ranches outside of Rapid City. In later years I was privileged to work on the same log home. Over the expanse of a several year restoration I brought this simple log cabin to a premier family estate.

Great Works

I have taken the basic skills I learned in my Uncle’s Cabinet Shop and have refined my craft over the years. My calling is to build beautiful handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces to be treasured for years to come. Whether that’s a dream kitchen or a furniture piece destined to be a family heirloom.

Working together to reach the desired outcome is a very rewarding accomplishment. Design is a personal relationship between myself and my client, and I enjoy this process a great deal. Feel free to contact me with your ideas.
